다비드 벤구리온(David Ben-Gurion)은 1886년 폴란드 플론스크에서 태어났으며, 1906년 아버지와 함께 팔레스타인으로 이주했다. 그는 노동당(Mapai)을 이끌었고 1948년 5월 4일 유엔에서 이스라엘 독립 선언이 이루어지도록 했다.
