리하르트 베어(Richard Baer, 1911. 9. 9~1963. 6. 17)는 1944년 11월부터 1945년 1월까지 이우슈비츠 수용소의 마지막 소장으로 재직했다. 전임자 루돌프 회스(Rudolf Höss)는 1940년 5월 4일부터 1943년 11월까지 초대 소장으로 재직했고, 이후 1944년 5월부터 1945년 1월까지는 특별 임무 수행자로서 다시 아우슈비츠에서 활동했다.

다비드 벤구리온(David Ben-Gurion)은 1886년 폴란드 플론스크에서 태어났으며, 1906년 아버지와 함께 팔레스타인으로 이주했다. 그는 노동당(Mapai)을 이끌었고 1948년 5월 4일 유엔에서 이스라엘 독립 선언이 이루어지도록 했다.
