서울 근교의 경우 수원이나 인천이 그나마 헌책방이 제일 많은 편이다.그외 시의 경우 헌책방이 2~3개점이 있었으나 없어진 경우가 대다수이다. 의정부의 경우도 몇년전까지만 해도 의정부 북부역을 기점으로 대략 3~4개의 헌책방이 있었고 헌책도 많이 구입했었다.근데 요 3~4년사이에 가본적이 없어 큰 맘먹고 1호선 지하철을 타고 가보기로 했다. 근데 지하철을 타려고 보니 의정부 북부역을 찾으니 어 이름이 없지 않은가.얼레 의정부 북부역이 없어져 버린것이다.그래서 직원에게 물어보니 잘 모르시는 모양이다.어디로 열심히 전화를 한참 걸으시더니 이름이 바뀌었다고 아르켜 주신다.이름이 오래전에 바뀐 모양이다.안가보긴 정말 오래 안가본것이 확실하네. 지하철역에서 내려 의정부 북부역에서 제일 큰 헌책 백화점으로 향했다.무슨 여고 근처에 있는데 그 부근에는 헌책 백화점외에도 2개점이 더 있었으나 폐점하고 무슨 분식점으로 바뀌었다. 헌책 백화점 지하로 들어가니 머리가 허여신 쥔장께서 오래만에 왔어도 알아 보신다.손님이 없어신지 말을 하실 손님이 와서인지 길게 이야기를 나누었다. 의정부 헌책 백화점의 경우도 손님이 없어서 장사가 매우 안된다고 걱정하신다.할수 없이 인터넷에서 판매를 하려고 하는데 독자적인 홈 페이지 구축은 어려워서 북코아에 올려서 판매를 하신다고 하신다.노인네라 북코아에 하루 50권이상 올리기 힘들다고 하시며 게다가 판매금액의 10%를 수수료로 내야하기에 손해가 있지만 워낙 손님이 없어 할수 없으시다고 하신다.게다가 그간 사 놓은 책이 많아 할수없이 인근 지하에 창고겸해서 2호점을 차렸지만 걱정이 많다고 하소연을 하신다. 판매가 없으니 새로운 책의 구입도 어렵고해서인지 헌책 백화점의 책들은 대부분 오래된 책 위주여서 쉽사리 구매할 책이 눈에 보이지 않는다.사장님과 커피를 마시며 이야기를 나눈후 2호점을 들렸지만 그닥 살 책이 없어 인사를 드리고 나왔다. 책 찾는 손님도 없고 임대료는 나가고 지금 헌책방들은 차가운 겨울을 맞이하고 있는것 같아 마음이 스산하다.
흠 이사 준비중이라 거의 블로그에 못 드나드네요.특히 책을 어떻게 할지 고민중인데 그동안 모은 잡지를 많이 버렸음에도 아직도 책이 많다는 사실.... 얼른 돈 벌어서 서재를 만들수 있는 집으로 이사가고 싶당!!
