나는 우리들의 미래와 '바다사람들'이 내 노래가 암시하는 슬픈 가사보다 더 행복하기를 간절히 희망한다.
바깥 추운 겨울 밤 '요정의 여왕'은 하얀 요정 케이크처럼 눈 덮인 언덕 아래에 잠이 들고, 사방 적막 속에 흰 숲과 성의 창문도 말이 없다.
내가 해변으로 내려가 고요한 바다를 향해 소리 지르면, 내 친구들은 부드럽게 물살 가르며 내 앞에 모습을 드러낸다. 그들은 게와 뱀장어, 가리비와 해초가 넘쳐나는 또 다른 세상에서 잠시 나와 내 모습을 살피며 물질하고 논다. 그 가운데 몇몇 낯익은 얼굴은 나와 함께 잊을 수 없는 아름다운 기억 속으로 빠져든다.
