■준수 수칙■
＜녹스의 십계＞
① 범인은 이야기의 첫머리부터 언급(등장)되어야 한다.
The criminal must be mentioned early on.
② 초자연적인 해결 방법은 근절되어야 한다.
Supernatural solutions are ruled out.
③ 한개 이상의 밀실이나 비밀통로를 설정하면 안된다.
Only one secret room or passage is allowed.
④ 아직 발견되지 않은 독극물은 허용될 수 없다.
No undiscovered poison are permitted.
⑤ 중국인을 작품속에(주요 인물로) 등장시키지 말라.
No chinamen should appear in the story.
⑥ 탐정이 우연이 사고를 넘기게 되었다든지 직관 따위에 의존하게 해서는 안된다.
The detective must not be helped by lucky accidents, or by intuitions.
⑦ 탐정 자신이 범인이어서는 안된다.
The detective must not himself commit the crime.
⑧ 탐정이 단서를 은폐하면 안된다. 단서를 발견했을 때 즉시 독자에게 알려줄 것.
Nor must he conceal clues from the reader.
⑨ 작품에서 왓슨(화자, 전달자 - 인용자) 역을 담당하는 인물의 생각은 남김없이 독자에게 알려져야 한다.
The thoughts of the 'Watson' must not be concealed.
⑩ 쌍둥이나 닮은 사람을 등장 시킬 때는 각별히 주의를 해야 한다.
There must be special warring of the use of twin brothers. or doubles.
