powerful and sad tale of life as a women in Afghanistan

One of the best stories I've read regarding the lives of women in Afghanistan.

A much more sad and haunting tale compared to the Kite Runner.

I can't imaginei the life a woman has to bear in such a conservative and primative circumstances. How 2 woman, bond together and form a friendship is remarkable.

I hope Afghanistan can become the once peaceful and culturally rich nation it used to be before the war.

중국 사극 미스테리

오랜만에 중극 사극 미스테리를 보게되었다.
어렸을 적 측천무후 드라마를 본적 있는데 거기서 묘사한 측천무후는 참 순진하고 착햇는데 영화에서 보여주는 측천무후는 참 요망하고 무섭다...(외모가 특히)
조금 내용이 복잡하긴 하지만 보는 재미도 있고 액션, 로맨서, 환타지, 미슽리..모든 장르를 넘나든다.
무엇보다 배경이 참 멋잇다. 촬영지가 어딘지 궁금..

오마이뉴스는 NGO다

오마이뉴스가 그렇게 대단한거였구나.
오마이뉴스가 ngo 라는 생각을 한번도 해본적이 없다. 하지만 '모든 시민은 기자다'라는 모토가 가히 혁명적이다. 특히 요즘 한국 미디어가 제구실을 못하는 상황에서 sns, podcast등의 역할이 더 중요해진다.

2000년 새로운 언론매체의 등장과 2011년 나꼼수와 같은 팟캐스트의 등장에 유사점이 참 많다.
오마이뉴스가 서버장애로 어려움을 겪엇을때 시민들이 자발적 모금을 한것과  2002년 대선때 노무현 광주경선 생중계, 탄핵때 20만명이 광화문에 모였을 때...10년전이나 지금이나 어쩜 그렇게 비슷할까..

오마이뉴스의 진가를 보여준 YS고대강연 저지때도 기억이 생생하다...이 사건을 계기로 오마이뉴스가 타언론매체와 차별성을 보여줬다고 한다.

솔직히 나는 종이 신문을 안읽은지 5년도 넘은것 같다. 그렇다고 내가 오마이뉴스 같은 인터넷 신문을 열심히 보는것도 아니다..난 여전히 책이 좋다...뒤늦게 나마 오마이뉴스의 역사를 접하게 되서 다행이다.

아직 보수:진보언론이 8:2..아니 어쩜 9:1로 됐을지도 모른다...5:5가 되는 그날까지 모든 시민이 참여하는 언론을 만들자!

heartwrenching

I can't believe this book came out in 2003 and I just got to read it recently. The book engages you on the first page. I think this is the first book I've read set in Afghanistan. The author shows Afghanistan before the war....how beautiful and sad...sad of the present situation of Afghanistan.

The book is shocking and sad...the class of Hazaares...family secrets and redemption.

I love the book but I don't think i could watch the movie...too heartbreaking...

upbeat and engaging!

I loved the book! I've seen all of Michael Moore's documentaries except Roger & Me..which i will definitely get.

It was shocking to know that MM wanted to become a priest when young..but soon decided politics/journalist was the way for him.


It was powerful that he started off by his death threat and how he became the most hated person in America. I never imagined it was sooo difficult for him...having to have security guards 24/7...multiple death attacks..it's just horrible how amercian people can get...

Also the things he went through as the youngest elected district school board of education...like clandestine meetings, no recording etc is something korea is going through now...especially the resemblance with nixon and MB is shocking! I guess democracy takes time and the process is pretty similar.

His experience of giving a speech at 17 on the racial discrimination at Elks Club really changed his view on how one event can change society/laws. Moore reflects "that change can occur, and it can occur anywhere, with even the simplest of people the craziest of intentions, and that creating change didn't alwasy require having to devote your every waking hour to it with mass meetings and organizations and protests and TV appearances with Walter Cronkite. Sometimes change can occur because all you wanted was a bag of potato chips"(191)

The most shocking was Moore had no training as a documentary film maker! He just really loved watching movies...I hope he makes many more of them.
