미국 실제 생활에서 쓸 수 있는 유용한 표현들이 가득하다.
상황 대화문도 맘에 들지만, 리멤버 Expressions, Bonus Info, 빛나는 상식, Summer의 미국 생활 Tip까지... 영어 실력이라는 게 단순히 대화문 외운다고 되는 것도 아니고, 문화적 배경도 좀 알아야 하고, 문장 구조도 파악해야 하고, 또 무엇보다 단어 뜻도 잘 알아야 하니, 영어 선생님이라면 놓치고 싶지 않은 요소요소가 알차게 들어가 있는 책이다.
그래서 실용영어를 공부하고자 하는 학생들에게 강추!
특히 영어책이 참 예쁘다. 책 디자인이 예쁘고, 보기 딱 좋다.
며칠째 MP3 다운받아서 보고 있는데, 내용도 좋지만 예쁘게 만들어져서 계속 보고싶다.
내가 기억하고 싶은 표현-----
p31 월세에 대해서는 저희가 재량권이 많지 않다고 봐요. 얼마 정도를 생각하고 계셨는데요?

p34 너희 아파트 엘리베이터 없는 건물 아니야? 어쩌면 계단 때문에 100달러를 더 낼 수도 있겠네. Isn't your apartment a walk-up? You might have to fork out an extra $100 because of the stairs.
p44 though: 절의 맨 앞에 쓰이면 '~임에도 불구하고', '비록~이지만'이라는 말이지만, 절이나 문장의 맨 끝에 쓰면 가장 간단하게는 however와 비슷한 뜻이 돼요. '그렇지만', '하지만'이라고 해석하면 되죠.

p185 For some reason: For some reason, I'm having trouble~ 은 '무슨 이유에서인지 ~하는 데 문제를 겪고 있어요'라는 말인데, 여기서 for some reason은 그 상황이 사실이고 일어난 것이 맞지만 그 이유를 모를 때 쓰는 표현.

He got here right on time.이라고 하면 그가 오기로 한 시각에 딱 맞게 도착한 것이고,
He got here in time.이라고 하면 예정된 시각보다 좀 더 여유 있게 먼저 도책했을 수 있어요.
