응용언어학자 로버트 카플란(Robert Kaplan)이 1966년에 주장한 대조수사학(Contrastive Rhetoric)의 유명한 도식
동양계통은 빙빙돌려말하고 프랑스어는 영어처럼 단도직입처럼 말하는 것 같으면서도 수식어가 첨가되면서 주제에서 벗어나는 듯한 느낌이 든다
단순화했지만 일리가 있다
