DOLCI, Carlo (b. 1616, Firenze, d. 1686, Firenze) 
St Cecilia at the Organ, 1671


=  성녀 세실리아 St. Cecilia  =


성녀 세실리아는 기원 2, 3세기 살았던 여인이다. 

원래 귀족으로 태어난 세실리아는 귀족인 발레리우스와 약혼했다.
 
그녀는 약혼자 발레리우스를 기독교인으로 개종시켰을뿐 아니라 

약혼자와 그의 형제들에게 세례받기를 권하였다. 


그녀는 이교도의 종교의식을 거부하여 고발 당하게 되었다. 

처음에는 살려 주려고 고문을 가하고 

형집행관은 그녀의 목을 베려고 하였다.

그러나 팔다리를 절단하는 형벌을 가하여 

3일간 버티다가 결국 죽게 되었다.
