대학 신입생 때 늘상 귀에 이어폰을 꽂고 다니는 동기가
있었다. 무슨 노래를 듣는지 궁금해서 물어보니 내 귀에
다가 이어폰 한쪽을 넘겨받고 들은 노래가 바로
메탈리카의 the unforgiven
이날 우리는 수업을 째고 508번을 타고 동부정류장으로
가서 포항행 버스에 올랐고 칠포해수욕장으로 가는 내내
이 노래를 들었다. 바닷가에서 둘은 대화도 없이
소주를 나눠 마셨다. 바람이 미친듯이 부는 5월말이었다.
노래 초반에 기타사운드 리듬과 드럼연주는 환상적이다.
메탈리카 노래중에 그나마 듣기가 수월한 곡.
