The strange, pancake-shaped stingray bears an uncanny resemblance to Earth's last ever human, Cassandra. In a Doctor Who episode, Cassandra has been preserved for so long that all that remains of her is a freakish piece of skin with a face stretched on to a frame. The discovery of the Heliotrygon stingray by biologists at University of Toronto Scarborough was made in the upper Amazon.
