한 무서운 폭풍우가
한 무서운 폭풍우가 대기를 짓이겼네-
구름들은 음산하게-
흑빛이 -유령의 외투처럼
하늘과 땅을 가렸네.
짐승들은 지붕 위에서 낄낄대고-
그리고 허공에서 지저귀고-
그리곤 주먹들을 흔들며-
그리곤 이빨들을 악물며-
그리곤 광포한 머리칼을 흔들었네.
아침이 켜졌네-새들은 일어났네-
괴물의 시든 눈은
천천히 저희들의 언덕으로 돌아갔네-
이윽고 평화- 바로 천국!
An Awful Tempest Mashed the Air
An awful Tempest mashed the air-
The clouds were gaunt, and few-
A Black- as of a Spectre's Cloak
Hid Heaven and Earth from view.
The creatures cuckled on the Roofs-
And whistled in the air-
And shook their fists-
And gnashed their teeth-
And swung their frenzied hair.
The moprning lit- the Birds arose-
The Monster's faded eyes
Turned slowly to his native coast-
And peace-was Paradise!
