그림으로 생각 키우기

. . 요즘 하은이가 놀고있는 미술놀이 한가지..



고미 타로의 50%로 완성된 책이다.
절반이 그려져 있으니 나머지는 하은이가 상상하면서 그려넣으면 된다.

예전 김천에 있을때 다현이 엄마가 다현이가 그리도 어린데 함께 놀아보겠다고
이 책을 구입해서는 시도했다가 그만 묵히게 되었던 그 책..
이미 아는 사람은 다~ 아는 베스트셀러이기도 하다.

지난해 품모임을 같이하는 친구인 원영이에게 선물로 사주곤
어떻게 하는지 두고보다가 차차 구입할까 생각했는데
겨울동안 집에서 갖고 놀기에 좋을것 같은 생각에 맘이 변해서
급히 주문해서 구입한 책이다.

고미 타로의 아주 간단한 미완성 그림에
작가의 지시대로 상상을 하면서 그림을 그리면 된다.

뭘 이런걸 책으로 엮어내냐..고 생각할 수도 있겠지만
집에서 엄마가 해주려면 생각만큼 쉽지 않은 활동임에 틀림없다.
(내 경험상..)
그렇다고 매일 백지를 내밀며 마음닿는대로 그려보라고 하면
조금 끄적이다가 재미없다고 그만두는 딸래미..
엄마더러 뭐 해달라고 주문도 많고
같이 하자고 늘 조르는데 이 책으로 그림을 그릴땐 제법 혼자서 독립심(?)을 발휘한다.

제목은 '그림으로 생각키우기'
주문에 급급해 아무 생각없이 그냥 막~ 그리다가는 이 책의 의도를 잘 살리지 못한다.

먼저 고미 타로가 그려놓은 그림을 들여다 보고는 관찰을 한다.

"무엇 같아 보여?"
"무엇이 부족해 보여?"
"어떻게 그려줄까?"

그런식으로 하은이에게 생각하게끔 유도하고
말을 들어주고 하은이의 방식대로 그려주는 그림을 그냥 존중해 준다.
꼭 엄마의 생각을 말할 필요도 없고 굳이 이것이다라고 어필할 필요는 더더욱 없다.
이 책은 그냥 놀이로 그림을 즐기고
그 그림을 통해서 이렇게도 저렇게도 생각해 볼수 있는 '생각'을 키우면 되는거니까..

때로는 40개월이 막 지난 하은이에게 조금 어려워 보이는 주문(화장실에 앉은 사람을 그려보세요, 등등)도 있지만
쉬운것 부터, 또 흥미로워 하는것 부터 즐긴다.

이런식이다.
만3세가 지났다면 엄마와 함께 즐길수 있는 책인듯 하다.

보림출판사에서 받은 상품 하나

보림출판사에서 독자서평을 받는데
매달 1편씩 최우수 서평을 선정하는데
지난해 12월달의 '이달의 서평'에 뽑혔다.

알라딘의 어린이 그림책 분야에서 활발히 활동하는
사람들의 대부분이 보림출판사의 신간평가단으로도
활동하고 있다는 사실을 알고 홈페이지에 들어가 봤더니 신간평가단으로 활동할수 있는 길이 몇가지 있는데
그중에서 가장 유력한 방법이 '이달의 서평'에 선정되는 것인듯..

신간평가단에 선정되면 받게 되는 혜택중 하나가
말그대로 보림출판사에서 새로이 출간하는 신간의 그림책과 음반을 무상으로 받아볼수 있다는 것이다.
그리고 그 무상에 대한 답례로 한달에 한편을 서평으로 올린다는것.
그리 부담될것 없는 얼마나 매력적인 답례인가..

이달의 서평에 선정되고 상품이 도착했다.
상품은 [햇빛소리 맑은소리(CD 2장 + 악보집)]


소개글
1987년부터 국립국악원이 개최한 국악동요제에서 발표된 216곡의 노래 중 쉽고 재미있는 노래, 동심이 느껴지는 노래 50곡을 모아 CD음반 2장과 악보집으로 엮었다. '자연과 전통', '가족과 생활' 두 주제로 나누어 우리의 정서에 담겨 있는 아름답고 정겨운 가락을 담았다.

전통 국악기를 사용하여 우리나라 전통가락의 멋과 맛을 느낄 수 있도록 하였다. 노래를 들으면서 국악기의 음색에 귀를 기울이면 국악기가 저마다 독특한 음색을 가지고 있으며 조화를 이루고 있음을 알 수 있다.

굿거리, 중모리, 중중모리, 자진보리, 동살풀이 등 국악의 다양한 리듬은 서양 음악의 리듬과는 다른 우리 고유의 흥겨움, 익살스러움, 정겨움과 재치를 엿보게 한다. 국악 동요에 달린 맛을 살리기 위해 각 곡의 성격에 따라 다양한 악기로 편곡하였다.

보리어린이 노래마을 음반이나 보림의 백창우씨가 붙인 노래들에 비해 이 음반은 확연히 국악을 바탕으로 모은 것이라는걸 온몸으로 느낄수 있다.
언급한 다른 음반들도 물론 우리나라 악기를 많이 사용해서 전통음악의 냄새가 나긴 하지만 [햇빛소리 맑은소리]는 국악만 모은 음반이다보니 장단자체가 우리나라의 장단을 사용해 여타 다른 음반들과는 분명히 다르게 들리는 차이를 느낀다.
청음이 전혀 발달치 못한 내가 듣기에도..

품모임에서 읽은 책-겨울놀이

사계절에 관련된 놀이나 이야기를 수수께끼 형식으로
풀어내도록 구성한 책,
아이들이 열심히 듣는다.
겨울부분에 겨울에 할수 있는 여러가지 놀이들이
소개되어 있다.
눈썰매, 얼음위에서 팽이돌리기, 눈싸움, 연날리기, 눈사람 만들기, 쥐불놀이..

다른 놀이들은 듣기도 하고 직접 해보기도 했지만
'쥐불놀이'는 듣는게 처음일 것이다.
대보름날 불을 지펴 깡통에 불을 담아 휙휙~ 돌려
둥글고 붉은꽃을 환하게 피우는 놀이..
내가 어렸을적엔 그래도 한번씩 봤었는데 요즘엔 무슨 행사때에만 볼수 있는
그런 놀이인것 같다.

오늘 모임에선 이 놀이중 팽이만들어 돌리기와 눈싸움, 그리고
지점토로 눈사람 만들기를 해보았다.

서점에서 보았던 책 한권

빨간 늑대
마가렛 섀넌 (지은이), 정해왕 (옮긴이)


공주를 좋아하는 하은이에게
'공주'가 나오지만 이야기의 포커스는 공주가 아닌책을 찾다가
딱~ 걸린책이다.

과보호를 하는 아버지(임금님)..
그 과보호는 책을 읽기만 해도 숨막히게 만든다.
그 과보호에서 공주가 빠져나가는 탈출구..
그게 바로 이 책의 제목인 '빨간 늑대'이다.

읽는 묘미가 있고 아이들에겐 상상의 세계를 줄수 있는 책이라는 생각을 한다.

하은이는 우선 공주가 나오니 관심이 동~하는듯..
이 책의 흐름을 하은이가 이해할수 있을까?-하고 얕잡아 보았는데
다~ 읽은후 흐름을 파악해 보니 어느정도 이해를 하는듯 하다.
(회색털실로 짠 옷이 임금님을 회색쥐로 변하게 만들었다는 내용까지..)

하지만 왜 공주가 임금님을 쥐로 만들어 버렸는지에 대해서 이해하기란
아직 어렵겠지..

아이를 위한다는 어른의 일방적인 행동이
얼마나 아이를 구속하게 되는지..엄마, 아빠들에게 메세지가 있는 책이다.

요즘 빠져있는 영어책 한권

King Bidgood's in the Bathtub


우드부부의 중세풍 그림책이다.
얼마전부터 매일 빠짐없이 들고오는 책이다.
꼭 CD를 찾아서 함께 듣는다.
예전엔 song만 좋아해서 따라하기는 잘 듣질 않더니
요즘엔 열심히 따라도 하고 이 CD의 후미에 있는 뮤지컬도 경청한다.

내용은 이미 다~ 익힌듯 하고..
이 책에서 "get out~"과 "come in~" "help~"를 익혔다.
CD음에 따라 "Who knows what to do?"도 맞아떨어지도록 따라 읽는다.

최근 테잎의 활용도가 높아지면서 습득하는 어휘도 급속도로 증가하는것 같다.
단어위주의 습득에서 이젠 문구자체를 외워버리는듯..

하은이가 최근 이 책을 많이 좋아하게 된 이유는
책내용의 장소가 궁전이기 때문이다.
요즘 '공주'라는 것에 상당한 흥미를 느끼고 있는데
한글책도 그렇고 영어책은 이 책이 그래도 근사치(?)라도 되기 때문이라고 할까?
-하여튼 엄마의 분석은 그렇다.

책읽는 동안 queen의 행동을 유심히 살핀다..표정까지..
기사가 들어가서 왕을 데리고 못나오자 뒷장에 나오는 왕비의 표정을 보라..
"엄마, queen 얼굴이 왜 이래?"그런다.

요즘 하루중 수시로 듣고 읽는책이다.
