왜 회계가 중요한가 하는 점을 단순히(?) 회계적인 관점에서 설명하지 않고 회사가 가지고 있는 사회적 역할과 책임의 관점에서 설명하고 있는 점에 대단히 공감한다. 수 많은 개개인이 자신이 소유하고 있는 재산의 일부를 회사의 주식을 사서 투자하는데 그 회사가 믿을만한 좋은 회사인지를 객관적으로 파악하는 방편으로써 회계가 쓰여진다는 사실은 투자자뿐만 아니라 그 회사를 운영하는 경영진들이 명심해야할 내용이라고 본다.

그리고 어떤 내용이든지 이해하고 읽기 쉽게 쓴다는 것은 대단히 어려운 일이다. 그점에서만 보더라도 저자는 대단히 큰 일을 해 낸 것으로 인정받을만하고 이 책은 좋은 책이라고 권하고 싶다. 꼭 경영자가 아니더라도 회계에 대한 튼튼한 기초지식을 가지고 있다면 여러가지 면에서 큰 도움이 될 것이기 때문이다.
