천재성이 번뜩이는 책

책을 어렵고 방대하게 쓰기도 쉽지않은 일이지만 방대한 내용을 쉽게 쓰는 것도 결코 쉽지않은 일이다. 그런 점에서 피터 센겐의 제5경영의 학습조직에 관한 내용을 불과 100쪽 이내의 우화로 설명한 데이비드 허친슨은 천재라고 불러도 무방할 것 같다.

원제(Ourlearning the wolves)에 대한 번역도 적절하다고 생각한다. 늑대보다 더 빨리 배운다는 것은 결국 늑대를 뛰어넘는 것이 되니까. 너무도 쉽고 재미있게 그리고 또 내용을 적절하게 표현하는 삽화와 함께 쓰여진 이 책을 단숨에 읽으면서 그동안 쌓였던 스트레스가 한 번에 날라가 버렸다.

사무엘 스마일즈는 '천재성은 감탄을 불러일이키지만 인격은 존경을 불러일으킨다'고 했지만 때론 감탄을 불러일으키는 천재성이 삶에 활력을 줄 수도 있음을 이 책을 읽으면서 경험했다.

모든 사람들에게 자신있게 일독을 권하고 싶다.
