JUKE BOX HERO

Standing in the rain with his head hung low

Couldn’t get a ticket, it was a sold-out show

Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene

Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream

He heard one guitar, just blew him away

He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day

Bought a beat up six-string, in a second-hand store

Didn’t know how to play it, but he knew for sure

That one guitar felt good in his hands, didn’t take long to understand

Just one guitar, swung way down low

Was a one way ticket, only one way to go

So he started rocking, ain’t never gonna stop

Gotta keep on rocking, someday gonna make it to the top

And be a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes), he’s a juke box hero

He took one guitar (juke box hero - stars in his eyes)

Juke box hero (stars in his eyes), he’ll come alive tonight

In a town without a name, in a heavy down port

Thought he’d cast his own shadow by the backstage door

Like a trip through the past, from that day in the rain

That one guitar played his whole life chain

Now he needs to keep rocking, he just can’t stop

Gotta keep on rocking, that boy has got to stay on top

And be a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes)

He’s a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes)

Yeah a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes)

That one guitar (stars in his eyes), he’ll come alive, come alive tonight

(Solo)

Yeah, he’s gotta keep rocking, he just can’t stop

Gotta keep on rocking, that boy has got to stay on top

And be a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes)

He’s a juke box hero (got stars in his eyes)

And just one guitar (juke box hero) put stars in his eyes

Now he’s just a juke box hero

Juke box hero, juke box hero, he’s got stars in his eyes

Stars in his eyes

Eric Clapton - One More Car, One More Rider - Live On Tour 2001

B.B King과의 앨범에 수록되었던 "Key to the highway"를 첫곡으로 시작해서 "Over the rainbow"로 끝날 때까지 모든 곡들을 즐길 수 있다.

"Lord, I wish I could hold you one more time to ease the pain...Still I catch myself thinking one day I'll find my way back here" 너무나도 실감나고 공감나는 가사다.

Wonderful Tonight

It’s late in the evening
She’s wondering what clothes to wear
She puts on her make up
And brushes her long blonde hair
And then she asks me
Do I look alright
And I say yes, you look wonderful tonight

We go to a party
And everyone turns to see
This beautiful lady
That’s walking around with me
And then she asks me
Do you feel alright
And I say yes, I feel wonderful tonight

I feel wonderful
Because I see the love light in your eyes
And the wonder of it all
Is that you just don’t realize
How much I love you

It’s time to go home now
And I’ve got an aching head
So I give her the car keys
She helps me to bed
And then I tell her
As I turn out the light
I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight
Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight

White Room (Jack Bruce and Pete Brown)

In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment.

I’ll wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.

You said no strings could secure you at the station.
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows.
I walked into such a sad time at the station.
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning.

I’ll wait in the queue when the trains come back;
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves.

At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She’s just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.

I’ll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves.

Tears In Heaven

Would you know my name, if I saw you in Heaven

Would it be the same, if I saw you in Heaven

I must be strong, and carry on

Cause I know I don’t belong here in Heaven

Would you hold my hand, if I saw you in Heaven

Would you help me stand, if I saw you in Heaven

I’ll find my way, through night and day,

Cause I know, I just can’t stand, here in Heaven

Time can bring you down, Time can bend you knees

Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please

Would you know my name, if I saw you in Heaven

Would it be the same, if I saw you in Heaven

Beyond the door, there’s peace I’m sure

And I know, there’ll be no more tears in Heaven
