Tesla - Into The Now

80년대 말에 결성된 테슬라는 전기물리학자인 테슬라의 이름을 딴 밴드다. 첫 앨범에서부터 그들의 음악성이 뛰어남을 발견했는데 만들어 내는 앨범마다 그들만의 색깔을 잘 담아냈다. 긴 휴식기(?)를 거쳐 재 결성되어 만든 새 앨범인데 자신만의 음색에다 요즘 신세대 Ž川援葯?음색을 섞어냈다.

개인적으로는 그들만의 특색을 계속 유지해 주길 바랬지만 적어도 30대 40대들의 취향에 거슬리는 정도로 변한 것은 아닌 것 같다.

개인적으로는 "What a shame"과 "Caught in a dream"을 가장 좋아하는데 뒤의 몇 곡을 제외하면 전체적으로 잘 만든 앨범이다.

70, 80년대의 음악이 그리울 때 내 가슴을 달래주는 앨범이다.

기대가 크면 실망도 큰 법(?)

김범수의 가창력은 최고라 할만 하지만 이 앨범을 들은 느낌은 그의 능력을 살려주는 곡들이 없다는 것이다. 자신의 목소리와 가창력에 딱 맞는 곡들을 얻기란 쉽지 않겠지만 그의 능력이 충분히 발휘된 앨범이 아니라는 점은 너무나 아쉽다.

좀더 연륜이 쌓여야 하는 것일까? 2% 부족한 느낌을 감출 수 없다. 다음을 기대해 본다.
