We have this poster that says "War Is Over if You Want It." We all sit sround pointing fingers at Nixon and the leaders of the countries saying, "He gave us peace" or "They gave us war."
But it‘s our responsibility what happens around the world in every other country as well as our own. It‘s our reponsibility for Vietnam and Biafra and the Israel war and all the other wars we don‘t quite hear about. It‘s all our reponsibility and when we all want peace we‘ll get it.
"전쟁은 끝납니다. 당신이 원하다면요!"라는 포스터를 제작했어요. 닉슨에게 손가락질하며 "저 사람 때문에 전쟁이 일어났어"라고 말하거나 "저 사람 덕분에 평화가 왔어"라고 어떤 지도자를 칭송할 수도 있겠죠. 하지만 우리가 사는 곳을 비롯해 세계 곳곳에서 일어나는 일들이 결국은 우리 모두의 책임이라는 걸 깨달아야 해요. 베트남, 비아프라, 이스라엘, 그밖에 우리가 알지 못하는 모든 곳에서 벌어지는 전쟁들은 우리의 책임이에요. 그 모든 전쟁들이 끝나기를 원하고 바라는 게 우리의 책임이고, 그래야만 평화를 얻을 수 있어요.
