"Semester at Sea" 프로그램를 통해 아프리카, 과테말라와 라오스의 마을을 변화시키는 단순한 비영리 단체가 아닌 "for impact"를 이끌고 있다. 개인적으로 "Semester at Sea" 프로그램 참 멋진거 같다. 내 아들도 능력이되고 흥미가 있다면 이 코스를 보내고 싶다. 이 프로그램에 참여하면서 연필 한자루의 의미를 느끼고 그것을 실천하기 위해서 노력한 모습이 아주 평이한 문제로 기술되어 있다.
이 스토리는 조직에 대한 연구가 아닌 한 개인의 인생 여행이다. 결론적으로, 이야기는 주관적이지만 나의 관심을 사로잡고 영감을 준다. 애덤 브라운과 함께 큰 의사결정을 하고, 직원을 뽑고 기부금을 모으는 등 중요한 순간들을 간접적으로 경험할 수 있다.
특히 누군가의 경험 (been there and done that)을 듣고 공감하는것 자체가 인생을 사는데 많은 도움이 된다.
