Hail Mary shot, is it succeeded? or failed?
Such, such such a funny, interesting, funny, boring, funny and yet a bit of poignant story.
It took me months after I bought this book to hold it in my hands but I read just through it within a week. A week!
Stiil, words fail me.
Such an unpredictable story with full of science knowledge, and I can tell that Andy Weir definitely enjoyed writing this book. His way of sarcasm is such a fun and I cannot help but laugh with it. Even in the direst situatation, he made me snicker.
I contracted Covid few days ago, and without this book, the quarantine would definitely something unbearable. During the quarantine, I lost track of time reading this feeling my body is stuck in my room but my soul kept wandering around some place near Tau Ceti. I would like to give many thanks to AW for this. Hey! You have made my qurantine day! Thanks!
Also I was really glad when I found the name Heinlein because I really enjoyed his novel, 'time for the stars.' If anyone asks me what is my favorite sci-fi novel I would definitely pick 'the time for the stars.'-though I ripped off the very last page. I love the moment when I found that the author and I have read the same book and enjoyed it-AW probably enjoyed it right? Well, enjoyed enough to write his name down when he depicting the appearance of the spaceship.
Everytime I enter into a interesting novel, it seems like reading and writing a novel is the best thing that human can do, isn't it? It is the very best thing that our brains can do. Imagining the world that does not exist and enjoying it with others? Sounds like things that only high-evolved creature can do.
There were some parts that I found a bit weird and a bit offensive but overall I truly resonated with Ryland Grace and will try reading the MARTIAN! YAY
Thirty years. I looked out at their little faces. In thirty years they‘d all be in their early forties. They would bear the brunt of it all. And it wouldn‘t be easy. These kids were going to grow up in an idyllic world and be thrown into an apocalyptic nightmare. - P68
I looked down at the table. "But I ... I don‘t want to die..." "Nobody does," said Stratt - P387
She rubbed her eyes. "Believe it or not, Dr.Grace, I kind of like you. I don‘t respect you very much, but I do think you‘re a fundamentally good man." - P393
