X는 지구를 파괴하려는 자와 지키려는 자들과의 싸움이다. 둘 모두 나름 대로의 타당한 이유을 갖고 있다. 그래서 어느 편도 들기 힘들다. 지룡과 천룡 쪽 사람들 개개인의 사연들 또한 가슴이 아프다. 그래서 더욱더 어느 쪽을 지지하기 힘들다. 극장판 애니메이션을 제일 처음 봤을 때 참으로 충격적이었다.

그토록이나 예쁜 사람들이 그토록이나 잔인하게 사람을 죽이다니... 화면 가득 장미꽃잎처럼 붉은 피가 튀고 짙은 혈향이 코끝에 맴돌고...숨이 막힐 것 같았다. 아직 끝나지 않아서 결말이 어떻게 날지는 알 수 없다. 작가도 나름대로 고심을 하고 있지 않나 생각되어진다. 참으로 처절하고 무거운 이야기다.

메탈릭의 세계

예전 클램프의 세계와는 다른 세계가 바로 clover의 세계이다. 비밀에 쌓인 클로버 문장... 그것을 지키려는 사람들과 없애려는 사람들. 아직 다 끝나지 않아 어떤 식으로 이야기가 진행될지는 알 수 없다. 그러나 금속성의 차가운 슬픔은 끝까지 지속되리란 건 쉽게 짐작할 수 있다

클램프의 작품을 다 좋아하지는 않는다. X와 동경 바빌론...그리고 clover... 다른 작품들-국내에 나온 건 다 봤다-도 재미는 있지만 여러 번 되풀이 해서 보고, 사서 책장에 꽂아 놓은 건 이것 뿐이다. 겨울처럼, 금속처럼 가슴을 저며내는 슬픔... clover의 세계는 메탈릭의 세계다.

 비오는 가을 저녁과도 같은 노래를...
