Today, we still reap the blessings of God‘s promise-keeping character.
Let us give thanks that He is always faithful to His people. May welearn from previous generations and respond with greater faithfulness.
And let us pray that more people would know the truth of the gospelas we await the fulfillment of yet another promise: the promise ofChrist‘s return. - P69

There may be times when we are tempted to break our promisesor defer them to another time, but may we be like David and be faithfulto keep our word to God and to others, fulfilling our promises withoutexcuses or delay. - P32

King David takes an oath saying that he will carry out what he has sworn todo: set Solomon as king after himself.  - P31

He calls Zadok, Nathan, and Benaia tells them to mount Solomon on his mule. They are to anoint him asking at Gihon, and he will sit on David‘s throne to reign over Israel and Judah. - P31
