1The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month of the second year after they came out of Egypt. He said,

2"Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time.

- P30

6But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean on account of a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day - P31

12They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones. When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations. - P33

13But if anyone who is ceremonially clean and not on a journey fails to celebrate the Passover, they must be cut off from their people for not presenting the Lord’s offering at the appointed time. They will bear the consequences of their sin.

14"‘A foreigner residing among you is also to celebrate the Lord’s Passover in accordance with its rules and regulations. You must have the same regulations for both the foreigner and the native-born.’"

- P33

God instructs Moses to have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at its ap-pointed time. Specific guidelines are given, allowing those ritually uncleanor away on a journey to observe the feast later.  - P31

God extends the celebrationof the Passover to the foreigners living among Israel. - P31

God tells Moses that the Israelites are to celebrate the Passover. He wants His people to remember that they have received salvation from slavery and oppression because of Him. - P34

They are to recognize the blessing of being His covenant people, and celebrate His faithfulness - P34

Our relationship with the Lord weakens when we forget what He has done for us. Taking the time to remember God’s goodness and Christ’s sacrifice renews and refreshes our souls. - P34

Reflecting on the salvation and freedom that we have received helps us maintain a heart of thanksgiving and strengthens our joy in God.

Ceremonially unclean Israelites and foreigners residing among God’s people could easily have been excluded from the Passover celebrations, but God allows them to be included. - P34

The Lord is indeed gracious to us, but we should not take this grace for granted. Ignoring or neglecting Him would be sinful. - P34

May we not fail to remember God’s past faithfulness but celebrate and worship Him as He deserves! - P34

We celebrate the Father for sending His Son, and we honor Jesus forHis selfless sacrifice on the cross.  - P35

We take time to remember and respondin love and thanksgiving, letting God‘s faithfulness inspire us to continueto serve Him and give Him glory. - P35

Dear Lord, thank you for the faithfulness and grace You have shown me. Forgive me for the times I ignored or neglected my relationship with You. - P35

16They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn, the first male offspring from every Israelite woman. - P26

17Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal, is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself. - P26

19From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary." - P26

20Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses. - P27

23The Lord said to Moses,

24"This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting,

- P27

The Levites represent the firstborn sons of Israel, who are set apart for God. - P28

They(livites) bear the responsibility of ensuring that the appropriate cleansing rituals and offerings are performed so that the Israelites remain pure and holy as God’s people and do not incur the consequences of any neglect when going near the sanctuary.  - P28

The Levites are involved not only in the worship, ceremonies, and offerings, but also in the assembling, maintenance, and transport of the tabernacle and all of its contents. Thus, God wisely ensures that after twenty-five years of hard work, the older Levites can retire and no longer bear any unnecessary burdens. - P28

They are given the freedom to contribute to the community without allowing their service to negatively impact their health. - P28

Regardless of our life stage, we can all serve with appreciationfor one another, working together to build up God‘s kingdom. - P29

Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunities I have to serve in Your house. Please open doors for me to serve in areas that are being neglected so that all might thrive and bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. - P29

4This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold—from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern the Lord had shown Moses. - P22

7To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. And so they will purify themselves.

8Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of the finest flour mixed with olive oil; then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.

- P22

12"Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, using one for a sin offering to the Lord and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites. - P23

God instructs Moses on setting up the lamps in the tabernacle and consecrat-ing the Levites for service. Aaron arranges the lamps to illuminate the areabefore the lampstand.  - P23

The Levites undergo purification through washing,
shaving, and sacrifices. They are presented before the Lord as a living offering,
dedicated to assist the priests in their duties within the tabernacle. - P23

Moses’s job is to listen carefully, convey the message to his brother Aaron, and oversee the process to ensure that all tasks have been completed properly. - P24

We may not always receive such detailed instructions for everything God has for us, but Moses models how we are to approach the Lord when seeking His direction. We must listen carefully first, so that we might discern His will and carry out what He assigns us according to His guidance. - P24

Before they can begin their work in the tent of meeting, the Levites must be ceremonially clean. They must purify themselves and present a series of offerings to God. Then, the Levites themselves become the offering, dedicated as people who are to serve the Lord full-time. - P24

Perhaps they were fearful, as I was, about the consequences theywould face if they did not do their job well. However, they undoubtedlyrecognized the privilege they had in serving God and His people.
Like the eleven other tribes, most of us are not in full-time ministry, but wecan serve the Lord by using our gifts and talents in our families, schools,
jobs, and churches.  - P25

We can also pray for those who do serve full-time. Wecan recognize the responsibilities they carry and pray that they serve theLord and His people well with the humility and purity of heart that Christexemplified. - P25

Father, I praise You because You are a holy God who cares about the state of our hearts. Thank you for making detailed and careful provision for our purification through Jesus Christ. Give me ears to hear Your instructions as I serve You and Your people. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P25
