18 바로 그때, 삼십 인의 우두머리인 아마새가 하나님의 영에 감동을받아 말했다.
다윗이여, 우리는 당신 편입니다.
이새의 아들이여, 우리를 당신께 맡깁니다.
당신은 평안할 것입니다. 참으로 평안할 것입니다.
누구든 당신을 돕는 자마다 모두 평안할 것입니다.
당신의 하나님께서 당신을 도우셨고 지금도 도우시기 때문입니다. - P520

16 다윗은 하나님께서 명령하신 대로 하여, 기브온에서 게셀에 이르기까지 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 무찔렀다.
17다윗의 명성이 곧 사방으로 퍼졌고, 하나님께서는 그분을 모르는나라들 안에 하나님에 대한 두려움을 심으셨다. - P524

10-14 이제 네게 말한다. 나 하나님이 친히 네게 집을 지어 주겠다! 네일생이 다하여 조상과 함께 묻힐 때에, 내가 네 자식, 네 몸에서 난혈육을 일으켜 네 뒤를 잇게 하고 그의 통치를 견고히 세울 것이다.
그가 나를 높여 집을 지을 것이며, 나는 그 나라의 통치를 영원히 보장할 것이다. 나는 그에게 아버지가 되고 그는 내게 아들이 될 것이다. 앞선 왕에게서는 내 자비로운 사랑을 거두었으나, 그에게서는절대로 내 사랑을 거두지 않을 것이다. 내가 그를 내 집과 내 나라위에 영원히 세울 것이다. 그의 왕좌는 바위처럼 언제나 든든히 그자리에 있을 것이다.
15 나단은 환상 중에 보고 들은 모든 것을 다윗에게 빠짐없이 전했다.

요압은 왕의 명령이 몹시 못마땅하여, 항의의 뜻으로레위와 베냐민의 인구는 조사하지 않았다. 하나님께서 이 모든 일로노하시고 이스라엘을 벌하셨다.
8그러자 다윗이 기도했다. "이 일로 제가 큰 죄를 지었습니다. 하나님을 신뢰하는 대신에 통계수치를 의지했습니다. 제가 지은 죄를 용서하여 주십시오.제가 참으로 어리석었습니다. - P536

13 다윗이 갓에게 말했다. "모두 끔찍한 일입니다! 하지만 사람의 손에넘겨지기보다는 차라리 자비가 많으신 하나님께 벌을 받겠습니다."
14-15 그래서 하나님께서 이스라엘에 전염병을 풀어 놓으셨고, 이스라엘 백성 칠만 명이 죽었다. 곧이어 하나님께서 예루살렘을 멸망시키려고 천사를 보내셨다. 그러나 멸망이 시작되려는 것을 보시고,
하나님께서는 그들을 불쌍히 여겨 뜻을 바꾸시고, 죽음의 천사에게명령하셨다. "이제 됐다! 그만 물러나거라!" - P537
