31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

- P133

Worrying incessantly is like running after the concerns of this world. We may be tempted to seek worldly security, but we forget that our heavenly Father already knows what we need. Ultimately, our success and security are found in Christ, and there is no benefit in fretting over what we are afraid we might lack. Instead of letting our minds race with concerns, we can remind ourselves that God cares for us, just as He cares for all of His creation, and that He will provide for our needs. This simple truth is not always easy to remember when there is evil and brokenness in this world. However, as we grow in faith, we will find strength and peace in our Provider and Lord.

Lord Jesus, I seek You today with all my heart. I pray that the priorities of Your kingdom become the priorities of my life. I let go of my worries, entrusting all that I am and all that I have to You. In Your name, amen. - P135
