The Christian faith is a journey of trust and discovery. Scripture teaches that "we liveby faith, not by sight" (2 Cor. 5:7). We may not know exactly wherewe are going, but we trust that as we move forward with hearts look-ing upward, God will lead us every step of the way. - P105

God said He would pour out His Spirit uponeveryone in the last days. Visions, dreams, prophecies would be seen andspoken by many. - P111
Wonders in nature would be displayed before Jesus‘ secondcoming. - P111
And all who call upon Him would be saved. - P111
The sheer magnitude of God‘s outpouring of His Holy Spirit is a causefor great wonder, even for those of us reading about it today. - P112
Surround-ed by the other eleven apostles, Peter explains to the assembled crowdwhat it is they are seeing and hearing nothing less than the fulfillmentof Scripture. - P112
Whoever they may be and wherever they may come from,
each and every person in the crowd that day is included in God‘s prom-ise through the prophet Joel. - P112
Young and old, male and female, all God‘sservants will experience His supernatural presence and empowermentfor ministry. - P112
Through Jesus, God will call and work powerfully throughmen and women from all backgrounds and social standings in theselast days. - P112
Once again, Peter emphasizes that the experience of this group of Gal-ileans is not exclusive to them. - P112
Everyone who calls on the name of theLord will be saved. - P112
The gift of tongues poured out on this small band ofdisciples is just the beginning of the signs and wonders of God to come.

We can hear the senseof urgency in Peter‘s words as he appeals to the crowd that has gathered.
This sense of urgency permeated the Early Church and should remaina hallmark of the church in our day. - P112
We continue to live in the last daysand should be expectant and prepared for the return of Jesus. - P112
Lord, continue to pour out Your Spirit in these last days before Your return.
Increase the power of Your witnesses on earth in abundance so that we mightexperience a great harvest of souls in this broken, dying world. In Your name,
