14 The cart came to the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and there it stopped beside a large rock. The peoplechopped up the wood of the cart and sacrificed the cowsas a burnt offering to the LORD. - P28
17 These are the gold tumors the Philistines sent as aguilt offering to the LORD-one each for Ashdod, GazAshkelon, Gath and Ekron. - P28
18 And the number of the gold rats was according tothe number of Philistine towns belonging to the fiverulers the fortified towns with their country villages. The large rock on which the Levites set the ark of theLORD is a witness to this day in the field of Joshua ofBeth Shemesh. - P29
19 But God struck down some of the inhabitants ofBeth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death be-cause they looked into the ark of the LORD. The peoplemourned because of the heavy blow the LORD had dealtthem. - P29
The ark of the Lord reaches Beth Shemesh, and the people rejoice. They chopup the wood of the cart and sacrifice the cows to the Lord. - P29
The Levites takethe ark together with the gold objects and place them on a large rock. ButGod strikes down some of the people of Beth Shemesh because they lookedinto the ark of the Lord. - P29
The Israelites of Beth Shemesh are overjoyed to behold the sight of theark of the covenant entering their town. - P30
Immediately, they drop theirharvesting tasks and tend to the ark in worship and celebration beforethe Lord. - P30
Our daily duties related to our careers, families, and socialcommitments are important to the Lord, and we are called to carryout these responsibilities in His service. - P30
But there are also unique occasions that we must set apart as sacred and devoted to God. - P30
Our weeklygatherings of worship and fellowship in our local churches are amongthose spiritual duties that we must not neglect. - P30
