‘저항‘이라는 이름 뜻 그대로 미리암은 초월의 삶을 살았다. 힘없고 가난한 이들을 마음대로 짓밟는 애굽 제국의 사악한 질서에 온몸으로 항의하면서 자유와 평등의 노래를 불렀다. 그녀가 부른 노래는한나의 노래, 마리아의 노래와 더불어 성서 속 ‘3대 불후의 명곡‘을이룬다. 광야에 울려 퍼진 미리암의 노래가 오늘 우리의 삶에서도 메아리쳐 울리기를 홍해에서 명백히 드러난 하나님의 승리가 지금 여기서도 어김없이 이루어지기를. - P193

The context of this passage is the destruction of the temple, which tookplace in 70 AD, but one lesson for us today is the power of our prayers.
Jesus tells His disciples that their prayers can influence the timing ofevents.  - P58

If God‘s people have to flee in the winter, their situation willbe even more difficult, so He tells His disciples to pray that the eventswould take place in another season.  - P58

We do not know exactly how ouraffect different people and situations, but we know for sure thatthey do. May we not take this exhortation lightly and be mindful thatour prayers are powerful.
We can anticipate that effective change willresult from our earnest and sincere prayers.
