하늘에서 뇌성벽력을 칠 때 꿈틀대는 용들의 꼬리가 구름 속으로 사라지는 것을 보면서 그는 꿈에서 깨어났었다. - P10

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

He models humanity after His own image and likeness.  - P32

But we must remember that the earth still belongs to God andHe has plans for it that are moving toward a final completion. Hismandate is to fill the earth with His image-bearers so that we mightreflect His glory and rule and bring all of creation under His authority.

 애굽에서 ‘수많은 잡족‘과 함께 나온(출12.38) 이스라엘을 하나로 묶는 것은 다른 무엇도 아닌 하나님의 언약,
그 언약을 기반으로 하여 그들에게 제시된 율법이었다. 레위기의 한 구절은 이스라엘에게 그들이 나온 애굽과 앞으로 들어갈 가나안의 풍속과 규례를 따르지 말고 하나님의 법도와 규례를 따를 것을 선포한다(레183-4). 그러므로 출애굽 공동체는 이전의 애굽과 이후의 가나안과는 구별된다.  - P159

혈통보다는 그들이 따르고 살아갈 풍습의 차이가 관건이었으며, 처음부터 이스라엘은 여호와 하나님의 율법을 기준으로 하는 공동제로 부름 받았다. 그 법을 따라 살아갈 때, 하나님의 거룩한 백성인 이스라엘은 세상과 구별될 것이다. 크기나 세력, 강대한 군사력이 아니라,
이스라엘이 따르고 지키는 율법이 이스라엘을 구별한다. - P159
