23At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.

24false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

- P99

Lord Jesus, deliver me from the evil that is in the world today, as well as the evil that is coming. Cleanse my heart, purify my spirit, and fill me with Your presence that I may resist the schemes of the enemy. In Your name I pray, amen. - P101

Jesus once more warns His disciples of false messiahs and false prophetsthat will come during the time of great distress at the end of the age.
Thesepersons will perform signs and wonders that will seem so genuine that,
without God‘s help, even true followers of Christ would be taken in. Jesuswarns His disciples that "wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures willgather." What does He mean by this metaphor? In light of Jesus‘ previouswarnings, we cannot help but conclude that our Lord is warning againstspiritual deception and the inevitable death it brings to those seduced byit.  - P100

As we navigate these last days, it is imperative that spiritual discernmentthrough God‘s Word and the Holy Spirit be our guide.
What can make a person vulnerable to false prophets and false messiahs? Why doesJesus give us these warnings ahead of time? - P100

When wespend time with God in prayer, rest in His presence, and read and meditateon His Word, we begin to learn more about His character, understandHis heart and recognize His voice. This way, when false teachings try toHiscompete with God‘s, we will be able to clearly identify them as counterfeitand discern the enemy‘s lies from God‘s truth. - P101

2"Do you see all these things?" he asked. "Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you.

- P94

9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,

11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

- P95

Jesus’ disciples point out to Him the magnificent buildings of the temple. He tells them that a time will come when all those will be destroyed. Later, the disciples privately ask Jesus for more details about what He said. Jesus tells them what will happen in the last days: false messiahs, wars, famines, and earthquakes will come. As our world spins out of control, Jesus says we are not to be alarmed. These things, He tells us, are the beginning of birth pains. - P96

At the end, there will be the joy of new creation and new life. For Christians, the end of this world is the beginning of the promised age to come. - P96

We are easily captivated by things that hold little eternal value. Let us takeintentional breaks from social media to quiet the constant voices of advertisers,
promoters, and influencers. In that stillness, let us ask God to reveal what Hedesires for us to pursue.
- Pastor Sam An - P97

Lord Jesus, set my mind and heart on the things above. Grant me the wisdom to recognize how transitory and fleeting the things of this world are, and the courage and discipline to seek that which is eternal. In Your name I pray, amen. - P97

27"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.

28In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

Jesus delivers one of His most direct and sorrowful confrontations of the religious leaders. His "woes" are not merely condemnations; they are a lament from a heart that grieves over leaders who have misled God’s people. They do not enter the kingdom of God and bar sincere seekers from entering by their false teaching and corrupt example. They make great efforts to attract even one follower, but they lead them to themselves rather than to God. Their disciples become even more hardened and hypocritical than they are. Though outwardly religious, the Pharisees are spiritually dead. True spiritual authority is lost the moment one rejects Jesus. - P88

Authentic Christian leadership always points people to Christ and flows from inner transformation, not external legalism. - P88

Gracious Lord Jesus, guard my heart from hypocrisy and self-centeredness. Help me lead and serve in ways that direct others toward You, not myself. Let my life and words reflect Your truth and character, bringing clarity, not confusion, to those who seek You. In Your name, amen. - P89
