We can be so quickto judge people based upon their physical appearance, education, socialstatus, and charisma; we often measure ourselves along such lines aswell.  - P138

Notice theclear contrast between the religious leaders versus Peter and John. TheSanhedrin is preoccupied with pleasing others, which enslaves them tothe will of the people and robs them of true power.  - P138

The disciples, on theother hand, are the ones who are truly free because they seek to pleaseGod.  - P138

Likewise, the more we choose God over people, the more we willexperience the freedom Christ has won for us. - P138

히브리 원어로 보면, 제일 먼저 나오는 단어가 ‘기다리고 기다렸더니‘로 두 번 반복하여 강조했다. 이것이 다윗의 기본 태도였다. 주님을 기다리는 것, 주님의 일하심을 기다리는 것.
다윗은 "나의 하나님이여 지체하지 마소서"라는 고백으로 시편40편을 끝맺는다. 마지막까지 하나님만 기다린 것이다. 할 수있는 게 없어서 기다린 게 아니라 기다림이 그의 유일한 할 일이었다. 기다림은 무위의 시간이 아닌 하나의 적극적인 행위였다. - P211

다윗은 하나님의 호각 소리를 들었다. 모두가 눈앞의 상황을기회로 여길 때 그는 유혹을 감지했다. 이것이 결정적인 기회의순간에 하나님 말씀에 순종하는지를 알아보기 위한 믿음의 테스트임을 직감했다.

Peter takes the opportunity to speak to those gathered at Solomon‘s Colon-nade. He tells them healing is possible through Jesus‘ name and faith in Him.

As people marvel over the change brought aboutin this man‘s life, Peter readily gives them the full picture of the gospelas it is revealed in the Scriptures and explains what the implications arefor his hearers.  - P130

The Holy Spirit gave Peter the power to speak boldly yet with grace inthe face of opposition.  - P134

Had he relied on his own power, he could nothave been anywhere near as bold, and he would not have been able tohighlight the gospel message even as he answered his opponents.  - P134

TheHoly Spirit that gave Peter this power is the same Spirit that Chris-tians have today. He works within all those who have put their faith inChrist. . - P134

It is normal to feel afraid or defensive when facing opposition.
But when you feel weak and afraid, remember that Peter was oncescared to acknowledge Jesus before a servant girl.  - P134

The same Spirit thatemboldened him and inspired his speech is at work in you.  - P134

Rely on Him - P134

Lord Jesus, draw near to all those who follow You and worship You. Pleasebe especially close to those who are persecuted because of You.  - P135

Strengthenthem and use them to bring others to know You, the only way to salvation.
