이스르엘 사람 아히노암이 낳은 맏아들 암논갈멜 사람 나발의 아내였던 아비가일이 낳은 둘째 아들 길르압그술왕 달매의 딸 마아가가 낳은 셋째 아들 압살롬학것이 낳은 넷째 아들 아도니야아비달이 낳은 다섯째 아들 바다에글라가 낳은 여섯째 아들 이드르암다윗은 이 여섯 아들을 헤브론에서 낳았다. - P277

‘헤브론을 떠난 뒤로 다윗은 예루살렘에서 첩과 아내를 더 맞아13-16들였고, 아들과 딸들을 더 낳았다. 그가 예루살렘에서 낳은 자녀들의 이름은 이러하다.

17-18 다윗이 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되었다는 말을 듣고 블레셋 사람이그를 잡으러 왔다. 다윗은 그 소식을 듣고 요새로 내려갔다. 블레셋사람이 이미 도착하여 르바임 골짜기에 병력을 주둔시켰다.
19 그때 다윗이 하나님께 기도했다. "제가 올라가서 블레셋 사람과싸워도 되겠습니까? 주께서 도우셔서 그들을 물리치게 해주시겠습니까?"
20-21 하나님께서 대답하셨다. "올라가거라. 나를 믿어라. 내가 너를도와 그들을 물리치게 하겠다."
다윗은 곧장 바알브라심으로 가서 그들을 철저히 쳐부수었다.  - P283

그러고 나서 다윗은 "콸콸 솟구치는 물처럼 하나님께서 내 적들을 쓸어버리셨다" 말하고 그곳을 바알브라심(솟구치시는 주님)이라고 불렀다 브레세 사라이 후퇴하면서 그들의 온갖 우상을 버려두고 갔으므로 다윗과 그의 군사들이우상들을 치워버렸다 - P283

3-7 그들은 산 위에 있는 아비나답의 집으로 가서 하나님의 궤를 새수레에 싣고 내려왔다. 아비나답의 아들들인 웃사와 아히오가 하나님의 궤를 실은 새 수레를 몰았는데, 아히오가 앞장서고 웃사는 궤옆에서 따라갔다. 다윗과 이스라엘 온 무리는 행진하면서 목청껏 노래를 불렀고 만돌린, 하프, 탬버린, 캐스터네츠, 심벌즈를 연주했다.
그들이 나곤의 타작마당에 이르렀을 때 소들이 비틀거리자, 웃사가손을 내밀어 하나님의 궤를 잡았다. 하나님께서 불같이 진노하셔서웃사를 치셨다. 이는 그가 궤를 더럽혔기 때문이다. 웃사는 거기, 바로 궤 옆에서 죽었다.
8-11 하나님께서 웃사에게 진노를 발하시자 다윗은 화를 냈다. 그래서 그곳은 오늘까지 베레스웃사(웃사에 대해 폭발하심)라고 불린다. - P284

12-16 하나님께서 하나님의 궤 때문에 오벳에돔과 그의 온 집안에 복을 주셨다는 소식이 다윗 왕에게 들어갔다. "그 복을 내가 받아야겠다"고 생각한 다윗은, 가서 하나님의 궤를 오벳에돔의 집에서 다윗성으로 가지고 올라왔다. 궤를 옮기는 내내 가장 좋은 소를 제물로바치며 성대한 축제를 벌였다. 다윗은 제사장의 세마포를 입고 하나님 앞에서 주저 없이 춤을 추었다. 온 나라가 그와 함께 함성과 나팔소리를 울리며 하나님의 궤를 따라갔다. 그러나 하나님의 궤가 다윗성으로 들어올 때 사울의 딸 미갈이 창밖을 내다보다가, 하나님 앞에서 춤추며 뛰노는 다윗 왕을 보고서 마음속으로 그를 업신여겼다. - P285

하나님의 영광을 위해서라면 나는 이보다도 더 격하게 춤을 출 것이오. 설령 내가 바보처럼 보여도 좋소. 하지만 당신이 그렇게 걱정하는 이 여종들 사이에서, 나는 한없는 존경을 받을 것이오."
23그 후 사울의 딸 미갈은 평생 자식을 낳지 못했다. - P286

There is nothing new in these verses; the devastation of Judah has beeniterated throughout the book of Lamentations.  - P90

But seeing the people‘shardships listed in such detail once again reminds the reader of the grimcircumstances the remnant now faces.  - P90

We are also constantly remindedof another fact: all these things have come as a result of sin. But thepeople are not without hope.  - P90

It is a clear evidence of grace when a mindawakens to the devastation of sin and in that moment appeals to theliving God: "Look! Remember us; see our disgrace." At the heart of thatprayer is a call for the living God to deliver from sin.  - P90

Even when it feelslike all hope is lost, we can always appeal to God. - P90

These verses should sound discordant to us. From the difficulty of finding sustenance to the atrocities inflicted on the people, we know thisisjust not how things were supposed to be.  - P90
