7Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
8They would not be like their ancestors— a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

Faith is kept alive as each succeeding generation testifies about God’s deeds to the next. . - P106
The psalmist speaks of "hidden things, things from of old" (v. 2) that have been made known to his generation by their ancestors. He then emphasizes the need to make these things known to the generation that follows. - P106

Of course, for those of us living on this side of the death and resurrection of Jesus, God’s Word is revealed to us most clearly in the person of Jesus. As we testify to what He has done and is doing through God’s people, we help keep our fellow believers’ faith burning - P106

God clearly commands His people to keep the community‘s faith aliveby teaching their children. Like an unbroken chain, each generation isinstructed in the ways of the Lord, and the faith of the community is madestronger as the living and personal faith of parents becomes a living and pesonal faith in the lives of children. - P106
When God‘s people neglect to talk aboutGod‘s works with younger believers, this chain of faith is broken, and theconsequences are disastrous. It may even lead to rebellion and God‘s painfuldiscipline, as eventually happened in Israel‘s history. - P106

The Great Commission includes the instructions to "go and make disciplesof all nations" (Matt. 28:19). One of the most effective ways we can dothis is by sharing with others our personal accounts of God‘s goodness andfaithfulness in our lives. Psalm 78:4 reminds us of the importance of thisvery thing: "We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of theLORD, his power, and the wonders he has done." - P107
When we share with others the many ways God has provided for usthroughout our lives, those around us will be encouraged and inspired. Our stories will point them toward the Lord. And the wonderful part isthat it‘s not only the "big" miracles that will speak to others of God‘s good-ness; it‘s the "small" ones, too. God‘s power was displayed both when Hetriumphantly parted the Red Sea for the Israelites and when He gently saidto the centurion, "Let it be done just as you believed it would," and healedhis servant with only His words (Matt. 8:13). - P107
We don‘t need to wait for extraordinary signs and wonders for us to shareabout God‘s goodness in our lives. The seemingly small ways that GodshowsHis mercy, forupus matter just as much: His comfort, His presence, His forgiveness, His grace, His love. These everyday miracles will be a powerful witness to others in our lives. "Then they would put their trust in Godand would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands" (Ps. 78:7). - P107
