Two lives with two purposes are revealed in this passage. Jesus has come for the purpose of being slain for the sin of the world, and John has come to help others recognize Him who would be slain. - P36
Recognizing the Lamb and fol-lowing Him equates to a decisive life change. Jesus would later teach thatwe cannot serve two masters (Matt. 6:24). If Jesus is Lord, then He is Lordof all of our lives, not just some parts. - P36
