Does this mean that God is punishing people whenever anatural disaster happens somewhere in the world? Not necessarily. Godcertainly uses natural calamities to punish people‘s sins (Deut. 28). ButJesus also teaches that disaster or disease are not always directly relatedto someone‘s sin (Luke 13:1-5; John 9:3). - P120
When disaster does strike,
we can do what Solomon‘s prayer teaches: we can pray for the peopleaffected, especially that God would show us opportunities to help them.
Then we can actively look for those opportunities and help where wecan, praying that God may open doors for the sharing of His gospel. - P120
