As David approaches Bahurim, a manfrom Saul‘s family called Shimei curses and throws rocks at him. - P63
Ziba is the servant of Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan. He meets Davidas the king flees Jerusalem and presents him with gifts that will help himon his journey. - P64
He tells David that Mephibosheth stayed in Jerusalem, believing that Saul‘s kingdom would be restored. David believes Ziba‘sstory and grants him favor, but we will later discover Ziba‘s treacherousmotives. - P64
Ziba had previously received much grace from David, despitebeing the servant of his former tormentor. - P64
But now we see that his heartresponded with greed rather than gratitude. - P64
When we receive God‘sgrace, we must humbly acknowledge that we do not deserve it. - P64
