Joseph experiences the same blessing and favor in prison as he did inPotiphar‘s household. He is put in charge of two new inmates, whoare in prison for offending the king. - P138
Joseph‘s life demonstrates thatregardless of where we are, there is always plenty of work to do for the kingdom of God. - P138
Every day is filled with opportunities to serve. - P138
We donot have to wait for conditions to be ideal orfor some great mission toarise before we can start being useful to the Lord. - P138
Rather, anytime Godbrings someone into our lives, we have an opportunity to share His lovewith them. - P138
Let us commit ourselves to everyday faithfulness, servingGod and others with the abilities and resources that are available to us. - P138
The two officials under Joseph‘s care have dreams on the same night. But stuck in prison, they do not have access to the king‘s magicians orwise men who might be able to interpret their dreams. - P138
Joseph findsthe servants dejected and his reply to their complaint reassures themthat interpretations belong to God. - P138
Prison walls are no barrier for the presence and work of God. - P138
When we face a dilemma and become frustrated at our lack of understanding and the limitations of earthlyresources, let us trust the Holy Spirit to help us discern the things that only God can reveal. - P138
How do you normally react when your plans are delayed? We haveall experienced different kinds of delays, and we understandably getfrustrated or disappointed when things do not happen at the timewe expect. - P139
Whether our car is stuck in traffic or a friend is late toan appointment, most of us would agree that we do not enjoy theexperience of waiting. - P139
As believers in Jesus, however, we need to develop a healthy attitudetoward waiting. - P139
The stage of redemptive history in which we are livingnow is one that is defined by waiting. - P139
Jesus promised that He wouldreturn to usher in a new heaven and a new earth, and we are waitingfor this day to come. - P139
But this experience is not unique to our time. Throughout Scripture we see that there is always a period of waitingbetween a promise of God and its fulfillment. - P139
Interestingly, God doesnot always tell His people how long they will have to wait until thepromise is fulfilled. - P139
As the wait extends from years to centuries, somemake the mistake of believing that God has abandoned them. - P139
