메타버스 대표주자 로블록스를 주목해야 하는 이유

로블록스는 미국의 13세이하 게임 놀이터로 간단히 알고 있다.

여기에 간과하는 것이 있다.

이미 나이키랜드가 들어서고, 구찌가든 VR로 제공이 되었고, 콘서트도 열린다.

그리고 5억 이상의 다운로드가 되었고, 매일 우리나라 국민 모두가 한 사람도 빠짐없이 들어가서 보는 규모로 이미 성장해 있다.

현재 1일 사용자는 5,000만명 정도 되며, 이후에는 계속 증가할 것이다.

그리고 로블록스에는 생각지도 못했던 기능이 있다.

팔로워 기능이 있다.

팔로잉 기능이 있다.

그룹 기능이 있다.

요약하면

게임 + SNS(페이스북, 핀터레스트, 포럼) + 메타버스이다.

즉 게임을 하면서 SNS를 동시에 하고 있고 더욱이 그 환경이 메타버스이다.

그래서 이들이 성인이 되어도 로블록스를 그대로 이용할 가능성이 상당히 크다.

페이스북이나, 유튜브, 핀터레스트, 블로그, 카페, 포럼 등의 기능이 이미 로블록스에 있다. 그래도 굳이 필요하면  페이스북, 유튜브 등은 그룹에 보조수단으로 등록하면 된다.

시대의 흐름이라는 것이 있다.

인터넷 시대의 초기에는 이메일이 유행하였고, 이후에 카페와 블로그가 생겼고, 한 때는 싸이월드가 유명했다. 삼성경제연구소의 포럼도 신선하게 다가온 적이 있다.

2010년 이후에는 개인적으로는 페이스북을 열심히 했고, 또 핀터레스트를 하고 한 때는 유튜브에 열광 했고 지금도 시청하고 있다.

지금은 게임계의 유튜브인 로블록스라고 하지만, 로블록스는 유튜브를 뛰어 넘을 것이며 상상하던 모든 것을 이루어 낼 것이다.
