While sports fishing off the Florida coast, a tourist capsized his boat.
He could swim, but his fear of alligators kept him clinging to
the overturned craft.
Spotting an old beachcomber standing on the shore,
the tourist shouted, "Are there any gators around here?"
"No," the man hollered back, "They ain't been around for years!"
Feeling safe, the tourist started swimming leisurely toward the shore.
About halfway there he asked the guy, "How'd you get rid of them?"
"We didn't do anything," the old man said.
"The sharks got them."

플로리다 앞바다에서 낚시를 즐기던 관광객의 보트가 뒤집혔다.
그는 수영을 할 수 있었지만 악어가 무서워서 보트에 매달려 있었다.
해변에서 표류물을 수집하고 있는 노인을 발견하자
그는 "이 근처에 혹시 악어가 있나요?"하고 큰 소리로 물었다.
"악어는 없어진 지가 오래요"라는 대답이었다.
이제 안전하구나 생각한 관광객은 느긋하게 해변을 향해 헤엄치기 시작했다.
해변으로 반쯤 접근했을 때 그는 "그런데 어떻게 악어들을 없앴어요?"하고 물었다.
"우리가 악어를 어떻게 한게 아니라구요. 상어가 악어를 다 잡아먹었으니까"라고
노인은 대답하는 것이었다.
