As a Christian from a Greek background, Timothy was well within hisrights to refuse circumcision. After all, the Jerusalem Council just ruledthat it was not necessary to be part of the church.  - P154

Yet, in his wisdom,
Paul knew that it was better to not be a stumbling block to the Jewishhearers of their message, and Timothy agreed.  - P154

As Christians, we arecalled to deny ourselves.  - P154

Just because something is not strictly sinfuldoes not always mean it is wise to do it.  - P154

There will be times when wewill have to say no to good things that may otherwise be in our right,
for the sake of Christ‘s service.  - P154

May the advancement of the gospeland the growth of God‘s people be more valuable to us than our ownprivileges. - P154

12 그러나 성도는 하나님의 계명을 지키고, 예수께 끝까지 신실하며,
열정 어린 인내 가운데 살아갑니다.
13 나는 하늘에서 들려오는 한 음성을 들었습니다. "이렇게 기록하여라. 이제부터 주님 안에서 죽는 사람들은 복되다. 그렇게 죽는 것이얼마나 복된 일인지!" - P854

Paul and company deliver the council‘s letter to Antioch and the believers areencouraged by it. Judas and Silas return to Jerusalem. Paul and Barnabas getready to go elsewhere and decide to part ways because they do not agree onwho to take with them.  - P149

Barnabas takes Mark and they go to Cyprus, and Paultakes Silas and they go through Syria and Cilicia. - P149

It is natural for humans not to agree on everything. We all have ourdifferent ways of thinking and our preferences. Christians are no dif-ferent.  - P151

Paul and Barnabas both wanted to serve the Lord, yet theydisagreed on how best to do so. The Bible does not show one to beright and the other to be wrong. Instead, we see that both men seekto faithfully proclaim the gospel even when they have to serve indifferent places and different capacities.  - P151

And as we read the epistles ofPaul, we see that he is later reconciled with both Mark and Barnabasand considers them beloved and valuable partners in the work of thegospel.

Christians don‘t have to agree on every matter, save the essentials ofour faith. What is most important is that we first and foremost holdon to the Word of truth and let it guide our choices. As we do so,
God will help us cultivate good relationships with our fellow believers. - P151

Heavenly Father, help me to be faithful to You where I am today. Help me tostrengthen others and serve You here.  - P151

And if You should call me to go, makeme ready and willing to do so. Only let my life be an offering unto You. InJesus‘ name, amen - P151
