When we meditate on His abilities, we cannot help but praise Him, and our hearts become full of confidence in Him. We do not give in to fear or worry about the forces that threaten us on earth because we recognize the power of God. - P54

Psalm 68 is a kind of spiritual inventory of what God has done forHis people. Because of what God has done in the past, His peopleanticipate what He can do now and in the future. The psalm takesinventory of all the mighty deeds of God and reminds us that Hecan do them again. The purpose is not simply to retell history butto demonstrate what God is capable of doing. Since God is faithfuland loving, His people can rely on Him to provide for them todayand forever. What a powerful reminder of the trustworthy characterof God!  - P55

our troubles seem less daunting. We can offer our highest praise andworship to Him, acknowledging all that He has done and affirmingwith full confidence that we are ever secure in Him. - P55

Thepsalmist seeks God‘s favor and asks Him to shine His face upon His people sothat His ways may be known on earth and His salvation among all nations.
The psalmist praises God for His righteous judgment and guidance, and all theends of the earth are called to worship Him in awe and gladness. - P49

We are reminded that God‘ssalvation and blessings are not limited to one group. People from everyculture can praise God in all languages. When we recognize that weserve a God who cares for all nations, we are challenged to expandour circles of friendship.  - P50

We are to express care and concern beyondour family, culture, or country. God is willing to extend His blessingsamong all people. We, too, should recognize and care for the nations. - P50

"Daddy, why do we spend so much time in church repeating howGod is?" This innocent question unveils a profound truth thatthe psalms elucidate so beautifully: worship is the essence of our rela-tionship with God.  - P51

Worship, the psalms teach us, is not just about singing orpraying; it is about bringing our whole selves to God. It is loving Himwith all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and living in a way that glorifies Him. - P51

He calls God‘speople to bless Him, recounting how He preserved them through trials andrefined them like silver. After they endured hardships, God brought them to aplace of abundance.  - P45

The psalmist vows to offer sacrifices and praise, affirmingGod‘s attentiveness to prayers and His steadfast love and mercy. - P45

Similarly,
when we experience refinement from God, the process can be chal-lenging, but through it we become more like Him. - P46

If wecherish God in our hearts, then we will speak, live, and pray in a waythat aligns with God‘s kingdom. If we cherish sin in our hearts, ourprayers will also reflect this. We will ask for the wrong things thenthink God has rejected us or does not love us when He answers in thenegative.  - P46

Cherishing sin means that we have chosen idolatry over Godand value our idol more than Him. However, God desires to accept uswith open arms and lavish His love upon us. Instead of rejecting Him,
let us reject sin, maintain a reverential fear of the Lord, and set our lipsto praising Him. - P46

At times, some of the old lies or sin patternsstart to resurface. However, I am more aware of them now, and withGod‘s help, I am able to keep them from taking root once again. I anticipate future "surgeries" as God sanctifies me to become more likeHim. However, I am much more open to them now because I knowthat the painful process is absolutely worth it. - P47

When I face testing, help me overcome temptation and reject sin so that Youalways hold first place in my heart. In Your Son‘s name, amen. - P47

When we are overwhelmed and unsure, we can go to Him foranswers and be expectant that He can deal with any situation. - P42

I can feel the nearness of the Holy Spiritwho comforts me. However, I have also found that singing out God‘spraises and meditating on songs that proclaim the opposite of how Ifeel are some of the most powerful ways to address my situation. I donot ignore or numb my feelings. I acknowledge the difficulties, butI also declare what I know to be true: God is greater than any of myproblems, and He knows how to handle every circumstance. - P43
