Paul exhorts believers to be like-minded and united in spirit and mind. Hetells them to have the same mindset as Christ, who was equal with God butmade Himself nothing, taking on human likeness and becoming obedient tothe point of death on a cross. - P77
God exalted Jesus to the highest place so thatall creation could confess that He is Lord. - P77
The Bible teaches that when we first became believers in Jesus Christ, we were united with Him, baptized in Him, and raised to new lifethrough Him. - P78
Truly these are extraordinary spiritual realities that aredifficult to fully comprehend. But the transformation we have under-gone also has very practical benefits that we enjoy every day: we are en-couraged and comforted by Christ, and we experience our union withHim in a special way through our relationships with other believers inthe church. - P78
For this reason, Paul calls us to treat our fellow believerswith reverent humility, putting their interests above ours. - P78

True humility does not mean viewingourselves as worthless and weak compared to everyone else. Rather, itmeans following the example of Jesus who fully submitted Himself tothe Father‘s will so that God might be glorified above all else. - P78
