* This is my son’s review for ’Alex Rider #3: Skeleton Key.’

     Anthony Horowitz, 327 pages, Science fiction

(2) When and where the story takes place. Also choose one important character from this book.
     This story takes place on a South American Island called Skeleton Key. General Sarov is a very important character because he is a bad guy. He lost everything he cared for. He exilled his wife out of the house. His son died fighting in a war. He thinks Alex is merely a distraction.

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning of the story, Mlb asks Alex to go to the island called "Skeleton Key." There Alex meets his fake mom and dad. In the middle of the story, Alex’s mom and dad get killed and Alex go captured. Alex was about to get killed by Conrad, but General Sarov stops him. General Sarov was about to set a very powerful nuclear bomb. However, Alex delayed it. In the end of the story, Alex stops the bomb and General Sarov and Conrad get killed.

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     Definitely, it’s ’5.’ I would strongly recommend this book because it has a very interesting atmosphere. 

Scorpia (Book 4)

(2) When and where the story takes place. Also choose one important character from this book.
     This story takes place in Venice, Italy. Yassen Gregovitch is a very important character because he is Scorpia’s leader. He is a contact killer. He looks like a junting assassin. His best friend is John Rider. He was murdered by Damian Cray who shot him in the heart.

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning of the story, Alex Rider takes a trip to Venice. There, he goes to the birthday of the Scorpia’s leader. In the middle of the story, Alex Rider gets caught by Scorpia’s soldiers. Then he gets told by Scorpia’s leader that Scorpia is working on a project called "invisible sword." Then he goes up onto the hot air balloon that controls invisible sword. In the end of the story, Alex stops invisible sword and kills Scorpia’s leader.

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     Definitely, it’s ’5.’ I would strongly recommend this book if you want to know some good names for fiction mad men. 

Charlie Bone and the Shadow (Book 7)

     Jenny Nimmo, 427 pages, Fiction

(2) When and where the story takes place. Also choose one important character from this book. 
     This story takes place in a school called Bloor’s academy. Billy Raven is a very important character. He can talk to any kind of animal. He lives with Charlie Bone. He is an orphan. Actually, the Bloor’s academy staff doesn’t like him. 

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning, Charlie finds a painting in the cellar and accidently got sucked in with his best friend’s dog. Then, he finds out that the painting led him to badlock, an ancient world with no mammals. In the middle, Benjamin’s mom gets furious when she finds out that Charlie lost Runnerbean again. Then Charlie manages to get out of the painting. On the first day Charlie went to school that week, he was sent to the gray room for bad behavior. When he gets out, he found out that he is suspended and Tancred is dead. In the end, Charlie goes home and he gets suprised by something.

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     It’s ’4.’  I would recommend this book because it is full of good action such as a hole in the painting. 

The Thief and The Beanstalk

     Paul Whiliam Catanese, 272 pages, Fiction

(2) When and where the story takes place. Also choose one important character from this book. 
     This story takes place in a big forest, and it took place after Jack and the beanstalk. Nick is a very important character because he is the main character. He is an orphaned boy with no home. He joined a band of thieves but then quit. Other people think he is a worthless thief. But really, he is just a boy.

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning of the story, Nick escapes a mean farmer. Then he thought he was safe, but then he was forced to join a band of thieves. In the middle of the story, Nick climbed a tree for the thieves and was rewarded with five bowls of venison soup. Meanwhile, Jack and his castlemates were fighting two giants named Gnasher and Basher who were trying to take over the world. Then Nick escapes the thieves and helps Jack. In the end, they defeated the giants and Nick lived with Jack in his palace.

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     It’s ’4.’  I would recommend this book if you want to know what happened after Jack and the beanstalk. 

Peter and the Shadow Thieves

     Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, 556 pages, Fiction

(2) When and where the story takes place. Also choose one important character from this book.
     This story takes place on a island and in London. Lord Ombra is a very important character because he is leader of the others. He looks like a teleporting shadow. He has the power to control other people by their shadows. He only eats live octopus. He is greatly feared by other people.

(3) Briefly summarize the main events of the story.
     In the beginning of the story, Peter teases the pirates by throwing Mangos at him. Then he goes back to his camp and tells fighting prawn. He is going to fly to London to visit his girlfriend, Molly. In the middle of the story, Peter secretly flys on to a ship and went to London. When Peter got to Molly’s house, there was evil people in it and Peter and Molly got chased out. The chase ended with molly’s father helping them. In the end, the evil people ran away. 

(4) On a scale of one to five, how would I compare this book to others I have read?
     Great and it’s ’5.’ I would recommend this book, in particular, because you can know how Captain Hook got his name.
