그대 사랑 그리움만큼
소들은 살 오르고
그대 베틀 소리
얼마나 메아리져 닳았는가
이리도 짧은 만남 위해
그리도 긴 기다림
차라리 영겁을 못 만날
절망의 운명보다
더 절망스런 안타까움
그래도 단단한 반가움 안고서
한 마리 소 끌고 오늘도 가고
그대는 베 한 필 안고서 온다

so the cows are growing fat;
ah how the sound of your loom
echoed before it faded away.
For so short a meeting
so long a wait.
Worse than the hopeless doom
of being unable to meet eternally
is the despair at our parting.
Nevertheless, cradling the firm joy of reunion
today again I set off with one cow in tow
while you come cradling a roll of cloth.
