To be honest, when reading this I'm walking the fine line between extremely amused and utterly disgusted, but then again I'm very wary of gross humor. However, the characters are just so utterly *out there* with their antics that I just have to give in and laugh till my stomach hurts.

Do I recommend this? Yeah I guess -- if you're not easily offended. However if you absolutely love sick, twisted and gross humor, you will without a doubt on my mind think this is one of the greatest anime ever made.

Hey, whatever floats your boat...

Urasawa Naoki never disappoints me. Monster was awesome, Yawara and Happy were both touching, and this. As always, Keaton is very attractive and humble character. He is so damn talented in many things, but so laid back -or wishing to be laid back. If I must compare, Master Keaton is on the same line as Monster (which is his later master piece horror-psychology thriller), but with lighter feeling. It is not like we're-all-doomed-if-Kenjo-fails, but rather 'Keaton-san! gambattene! (keep it going, Keaton!)' kind of feeling. @_@ Do I make sense?

Due to the kind of story it has, Master Keaton is quite episodic. If you have read Kindaichi's accident log or Metantei Konan, you'll know what I mean. It is IMPOSSIBLE to have main character continuously working on only one case and still be interesting, right? It would be really really dead-boring. Besides, there are more than 15 volumes out already for Master Keaton, I would HATE it if it was so. Lucky me, it is not. heehee. ^_^;;; Good art, action, suspence, touching stories..... I loved it.

While reading this, I thought, what if Kenjo and Keaton meets? That would be really interesting, wouldn't it? Sort of like... Trent Reznor (NIN) and Scott Weiland (STP) of manga world? ............nah. Now I'm REALLY forcing it. >_<

'Did you hear? It's said that if two people in love go to Toudai...they'll find 'happiness'.'
'If it really works...let's go to Toudai together, okay...'
'When we grow up, we'll definately meet at Toudai again!'
'I'ts a promise!'

15 years later, Urashima Keitarou stands before the steps of Hinata Sou...a mere walk away from the park the promise was made...on his way to Toudai (Tokyo University) . All very romantic...until you find out that he's forgotten the name of his destined girlfriend! >.< *sigh* Boys. *ahem* Anyways, let's just say that getting to Toudai will not be as easy as promising so. Brain melting exams, flying sea turtles, constant parties...and a dorm full of beautiful girls. What is there in that not to tempt a guy from his promise? Will Keitarou meet his love again at Toudai...or will Naru, Mitsune, Suu, Motoko, Shinobu or Mutsumi capture his heart beforehand?

In a nutshell, Love Hina is a shounen take on a love story. To me a combonation of Ah Megami-sama, Golden Boy and a dating simulation game...all in one. Minus the magic and part times jobs of course. ^.^; If you like any of the above, or love triangle stories like that of Video Girl Ai, Maison Ikkouku, Ranma ½ and DNA², this is definately one anime/manga series not to pass up.

Ever wondered what Takahashi Rumiko would produce minus sentient cherry trees, bizarre magic, martial arts combats, aliens, eternal high school, resurrecting houses, instantly healing broken limbs --- in other words, minus all the weird stuff? What's left would be the story of people. Maison Ikkoku is such a Takahashi production, an adult romance ... with classic Takahashi humor, of course.
Our story opens in 1980 with Godai, a struggling would-be college student who is currently struggling to get out of his one-room apartment.

His fellow apartment dwellers at the Ikkoku apartments aren't quite what you'd call ideal. His next door neighbor, a peeping tom of unknown employment, has claimed a giant hole in the wall, through which he slithers in to steal food, watch Godai, and get drunk. Another neighbor, a local waitress, likes to hang out in Godai's futon, wearing see-through nighties and getting drunk. Another neighbor is a plump mother of a young boy; she loves to dance around and sing in Godai's room while getting drunk. (Do you see a trend?) Only one thing keeps Godai from leaving --- the arrival of a beautiful young landlady, Otonashi ('No Sound') Kyoko (Kyoko being the first name that means something vaguely approximating 'noise child' or 'ring' (as in sound)). Godai naturally falls instantly in love with her.
