1948년 역시 12월은 빙 크로스비가 예약을 해 둔터라 남아 있는 1위 자리는 3주만 있었는데, 바로 그 자리를 차지한 것은 의외로 Theme Songs 이라는 Columbia에서 발매한 편집앨범이었습니다. 소위 Big Band 하나하나를 대표적으로 상징하는 음악을 Band Theme Song 이라고 칭했는데, 이 중 8곡을 모아 하나의 음반으로 기획한 컨셉으로, 당대에만 가능했었던 참신한 기획 덕분이랄까 당당히 빌보드 앨범차트 1위에 3주간 행크됩니다.
하지만 워낙에 희귀음반이라 CD버전 역시 나온 것이 없어서 아쉽네요. 그냥 넘어가기도 아쉽고 해서 당시 미국의 Big Band Theme Songs 리스트를 정리해 둔 것이 있어 자료삼아 올려 봅니다.
