■ 작품 소개1698년부터 1703년까지 프랑스 바스티유 감옥에 수감되어 있었던 미스터리한 인물 철가면을 모티브로 한 뒤마의 소설입니다. 루이13세는 왕위를 계승할 아들이 태어나기를 고대하는데, 왕비가 쌍둥이를 출산하자 리슐리외재상은두 형제가 왕위 계승을 두고 권력 다툼을 벌일 것을 우려하여 쌍둥이 왕자가 태어난 사실을 비밀에 부칩니다. 이 사실을 알게 된 로슈포트는 쌍둥이 동생을 납치하여 키웁니다. 이후 어린 왕자가 왕위를 계승하여 루이 14세가 되자 로슈포트는 쌍둥이와 바꿔치기를 한 뒤 루이 14세에게 철가면을 씌워 감옥에 가둡니다. 1998년 개봉한 레오나르도 디카프리오 주연의 <<아이언 마스크>>는 뒤마의 소설을 원작으로 각색한 것입니다. - P3
