츠빙글리는 말하기를, 성경구절을 그 맥락에서 뽑아내 해석하는건 "꽃을 뿌리에서 잘라내 꽃밭에 심으려 하는 것과 똑같다"고 한다. 그 꽃은 심어 봤자 소용없다. "꽃은 뿌리와 그 뿌리가 박혀 있던흙과 함께 심어야 한다" (87). 다시 말해, 해석상 의견 불일치는 성경으로 돌아가 본문을 그 구절의 앞뒤 맥락상 자연스러운 의미로어야만 해결될 수 있다. - P66
