[9] After Jesus rose from the dead early on Sunday morning, the first person who saw him was Mary Magdalene, the woman from whom he had cast out seven demons. [10] She went to the disciples, who were grieving and weeping, and told them what had happened. [11] But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn’t believe her.

Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! An angel proclaims this good newsto Mary Magdalene, another Mary, and Salome. They are told to go andshare with Peter and the other disciples that they are to see Jesus in Galilee.
The women are understandably afraid of this unexpected encounter. WhenMary Magdalene later tells the mourning disciples that Jesus is alive andthat she has seen Him, they do not believe her. Yet, this miraculous storypersists in sparking faith. - P110
Thousands of years later, people continue to believe in Jesus. They come to faith by hearing God‘s holy Word. They hearand accept the gospel, which is the good news of Jesus Christ dying forsin and conquering death itself. Then they respond with obedience to Hisword- P110
