2They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.
3They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. - P134

Jesus explains that when He is no longer with them, He will send the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, who will prove the world to be wrong about sin, righteousness, and judgment. - P136
The Spirit who dwells within us continues to lead and guide us so that we can serve the Lord with pure hearts and minds. - P136
May we be ever dependent on our Advocate to ensure that nothing will hinder us from walking in righteousness with our God. - P136
Jesus wants to explain even more to the disciples, but they are not able to bear all the information now. Later, with the help of the Holy Spirit, they will receive more of the truth because the Spirit will tell them what they need to know. - P136
Today, we continue to understand the truth of God because of the Holy Spirit. He not only illuminates Scripture for us so that we can better understand it; He also helps transform our hearts and mind - P136
Through the Spirit, convict me of my sins so that I may repent immediately, and open my eyes when I read Your Word so that I may understand You better and give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P137
However, as Jesus states in John 16, the Holy Spirit proves that the worldis wrong about sin, righteousness, and judgment. The truth is that we arenot enough when it comes to standing before the holy God, but because ofJesus‘ work on the cross, we can admit that we fall short and are in need ofHis forgiveness. We can repent of our sins and receive God‘s mercy anew. Jesus becomes the answer to calm our anxiety because only He can offertrue peace. - P137
